The settings of the Deadbolt might have been configured wrongly.

1.) For Left handling (bolt tongue comes from left):
You will need to toggle the button at the back of the Front Assembly of the Deadbolt 2s to 'L'.

2.) For Right Handling (bolt tongue comes from right):
You will need to toggle the button at the back of the Front Assembly of the Deadbolt 2s to 'R'.
